Nick Austria ist die österreichische Version von Nickelodeon.
Geschichte[]
Der Sender startete am 1. Juni 2006. Er teilte sich bis zum 1. Januar 2011 um 3:00 mit VIVA Austria die Frequenz und VIVA sendete von 20:15 bis 06:00. Vorher hat NICK Austria (vom 30. März 2010 bis 27. Juni 2017 Nickelodeon Austria) von 6:00 bis 19:00 Uhr gesendet. Seit dem 1. Januar 2011 teilt sich Nickelodeon Austria die Frequenz mit Comedy Central Austria und Comedy Central sendet von 20:15 bis 06:00.
Seit dem 1. Oktober 2014 ist Nickelodeon Austria wie Nickelodeon Deutschland 24 Stunden am Tag zusehen. Das Tagesprogramm (5:45–21:00 Uhr) richtet sich an Kinder im Alter von 3 bis 13 Jahren. Das Abendprogramm (21:00–5:45 Uhr) richtet sich, im Gegensatz zu den Konkurrenten Super RTL und Disney Channel, an Jugendliche bzw. junge Erwachsene, wird von Stunde zur Stunde älter und trägt den Namen Nicknight. Comedy Central teilt sich schon seit dem 8. September 2014 den Sendeplatz mit VIVA.

Nicknight ist ein Programmfenster, welches seit dem 1. Oktober 2014 jeden Abend ab 21:00 Uhr die älteren Zuschauer anspricht und bis 5:45 Uhr ein klares Gegenstück zum Nickelodeon-Programm darstellt. Bei vielen Sendungen wird auf das US-Portfolio zurückgegriffen. Vor allem weibliche Zuschauer werden verstärkt angesprochen.[1]
