This is a list of notable events, series endings, cancellations and other business ventures for Nickelodeon in the year 1984.

Notable Events

  • January - QUBE, the experimental two-way, multi-programmed cable television system that carried the test channel that would become Nickelodeon, Pinwheel, ends after seven years.
  • February 1 - ARTS, also known as Alpha Repertory Telvision Service, the second channel to air in the late night/early morning hours after Nickelodeon went off the air, merged with The Entertainment Channel to form the Arts and Entertainment Network, aka A&E. Thus ending its run with Nickelodeon.
