The 3rd Annual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards were held on June 25, 1989 at Universal Studios Hollywood. The hosts for the event were Nicole Eggert and Wil Wheaton.
Throughout the show, special guest Bill Kirchenbauer assumed the role of a movie director trying to put together A movie all about the KCAs. His dreams of silver screen stardom turned green, however, when he was given Nickelodeon's highest honor, a sliming.

- Bill Kirchenbauer - After continuously interrupting the show with his attempts at filming and directing scenes for his movie, Bill finally presented the completed film, entitled "Really Good Adventure", at the end of the show. The film turns out to be a mess, and a frustrated Wil Wheaton asks Bill what the meaning of the film was supposed to be. Bill replied with "I don't know!", which triggered the green slime to pour down on him.
