The 25th Annual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards were held on March 31, 2012 at the Galen Center in Los Angeles, California. The event was hosted by Will Smith (who, with ten KCA blimps, has won the most awards in previous telecasts) to promote Men in Black 3. Big Help Award winner Taylor Swift received a special silver-colored blimp from First Lady Michelle Obama. The complete list of nominees for the 2012 Kids' Choice Awards was released on January 11, 2012. A record-breaking 223 million votes for favorites in 20 categories were cast during this year's voting period, up 11% over last year's votes.
During the show, and in commercials leading up to the show, Will was being taunted and tormented by an unknown person codenamed as "Creepy Hater Voice". Smith was paranoid throughout the whole show, cross-examining various celebrities as the show progressed, even throwing out his own kids, Jaden and Willow. Eventually, the identity of Creepy Voice was revealed to be Cee-Lo Green, who had been pestering Will out of protest of never having been slimed. Smith reached a compromise with Green by "ice cream sundae-ing" him.
The rating was 6.162 million viewers, leading all cable programs for the week ending April 1, 2012.
