Alexander James "A.J." McLean (born January 9, 1978) is an American musician and singer. He is a member of the Backstreet Boys.
Prior to joining the band, thus reaching the notoriety he has today, he appeared several times on Nickelodeon. First, he was a contestant on Nickelodeon GUTS. He later had a role in Welcome Freshmen and played Sidney Duff in Hi Honey, I'm Home!.
Following the success of the band, he appeared with his bandmates as the musical guest in the season four All That episode that aired on January 17, 1998 performing "As Long As You Love Me" and the season five episode that aired on April 24, 1999 to perform "I Want It That Way".
