Abstract is the seventh (fifth if excluding pre-Nickelodeon) branding era of Nickelodeon. It debuted in September 4, 2000 through October 10 2002, replacing the Seeing Orange era. It was replaced with Pictograph on October 11, 2002.

Bumpers, Idents, and Promos[]

The more complicated part of Nickelodeon's era wasn't all over the place like the last era. Things got much simpler. A bit too simpler, per se. The bumpers consist of shifting images of Nick characters and the Nickelodeon logo. They would either be up close, or far away. Promos were also affected by this, because it's a brand and we need to know their era. Split screen credits were introduced in this era, using the same branding as all else. Besides promos, the bumpers don't use music all that much. Instead, cartoon sound effects will play every time the screen changes.

While the bumper became defunct, idents aired during the Pictograph era.
