Are You Afraid of the Dark? (also known as Are You Afraid of the Dark?: Curse of the Shadows during its second season and Are You Afraid of the Dark?: Ghost Island during its third season) is a 2019 Canadian television horror-thriller revival series of Are You Afraid of the Dark?, produced by DHX Media and directed by Dean Israelite, that premiered October 11, 2019 on Nickelodeon.[1] It is notably the last live-action production to be produced under the DHX Media brand, as the company would change its name to "WildBrain" to build upon its multi-channel network of the same name (which was subsequently renamed to "WildBrain Spark") just two months after it premiered.
On February 19, 2020, it was renewed for a second season.[2]
On March 24, 2022, it was renewed for a third season.[3]
On March 28, 2024, the series was removed from Paramount+ as part of a "strategic decision to focus on content with mass global appeal."[4]
