Bathroom Break!!!
(Formally known as The Loud House
) Is a 2014 animated short for the Nickelodeon Animated Shorts Program, produced in 2013 & created by Chris Savino. It served as a pilot for the currently running animated TV series, The Loud House. In April 2016, a slight redo of the pilot under the name, Bathroom Break!!!, was released on YouTube, changing some of the lines & music, & added an actual title card.
PLOT
11 year old boy named Lincoln L. Loud, trys to get to the Bathroom on time while trying to survive the chaos of his 10 sisters, under his 3 P's: patience, perseverance, and problem solving. He then goes out his doorway, and asks his big sister Luna Loud, to do some traveling music while he is on it. After so, he encounters his young sister Lucy Loud, in which the latter asks if he wants to read her poem. Lincoln says that he would, but he has a pressing engagement. After that, he encounters his big sister Luan Loud, who tells him to smell her new flower. Lincoln, knowing it's a trick, dodges the flowers as they shoot out water. However, the flowers on Luan's shoes also shoot out water, and the water shoots into his mouth. After Luan leaves, his other big sister Lynn Loud Jr., passes by him playing sports using a motorbike, and he quickly moves out of it's way before it could hit him, and she and the motorbike crashes. After that, his even younger sister, Lola Loud, asks him to play fashion photographer with her. He tries to tell her that he would love to but he has to go to the bathroom, but gets cut off at "have t-", and Lola says that if he doesn't do so, she will tell their mom that he was reading comics in his underwear on the roof again. Not wanting his mom to know, he unwillingly does it. He is however interrupted by Lola's twin, Lana Loud, for her to tell him to look at her mud pie. However though, he starts to be in the need for the bathroom even more and so starts to continue running. He encounters a few sisters on the way:
- Lucy Loud again, asking him if he is done with his business, but Lincoln says he isn't, and that he is still holding it.
- His very young, albeit super intelligent, sister Lisa Loud, where he quickly reminds her to carry the 1.
- His 2nd oldest sister, Leni Loud, who is trying to figure out how to use the vacuum, whom she calls: sucky thingy. However, she manages to turn it on and it sucks up all his clothes, minus his shoes and underwear.
By the time he finally almost reaches the bathroom, his oldest sister, Lori Loud, gets in the way. Lincoln tells her that he was there first, but Lori goes in anyway, saying the dialog "well I was BORN first!". Lincoln is now in hot water having to wait even longer to pee. Lucy Loud approaches him again, thinking he is done with his business now. She starts to read her poem about water. Due to the poem being about water, however, the more she reads it, the more Lincoln has to go. His youngest sister, Lily Loud, randomly walks around the area with a full diaper. Lincoln is disgusted by her full diaper, but it gives him an idea, to clear the bathroom with it, using it as the problem solving P. He then uses a mask and goes into the bathroom with Lori in it. Lori starts to get scared from the diaper to the point she blatantly runs out of the bathroom and the final P works. All his sisters, except Lori, stare at him for about 1.5 second, but when he holds up the diaper, his sisters cheer and shout "YAY!!!!", in response to their brothers bravery. Lincoln then says the even though surviving in a big family is a challenge, it is not impossible. He then goes into the bathroom. However, just as he uses it, he wonders what happened to all the toilet paper. He then tries to call his sisters to bring a new roll, but due to the loud chaos and craziness happening in the house, none of them can hear him. He them tries to yell harder, eventually saying "HELP!!!", but to no avail. The show's former logo then appears on the screen, ending the pilot.
TRIVIA
•This is Sean Ryan Fox's only time voicing Lincoln due to his voice breaking from puberty by the time of the series. He was replaced by Grant Palmer starting in the very next short.
•The day this short premiered is known as of 2022 as "Lincoln Loud Day".
•Lisa is the only character in the entire pilot to never speak (this is due to problems during Lara Jill Miller's audition).
•When the show was about to be about a family of rabbits, the short was going to be about the male rabbit trying to escape the house without any of his sisters knowing.
DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THIS PILOT & THE SERIES
•Lincoln is voiced by Sean Ryan Fox in this short, but is voiced by many other cast members throughout the series.
•Clyde doesn't appear in the pilot, but he is still one of the show's main characters.
•The shorts animation is different compared to the series (examples is Lola's brighter and more better dress color, the characters tongues being dark rose instead of pink, there is no newspaper feel to the backgrounds, ETC.)
