Bob the Builder is a British children's animated television show created by Keith Chapman who was also behind PAW Patrol. The show aired on Nickelodeon as part of Nick Jr. from 2001 to 2004.
Premise[]
In the original series, the show was animated in stop motion animation. Bob, a building contractor specializing in masonry along with his colleague Wendy, various neighbors and friends, and their gang of anthropomorphized work-vehicles and equipment do various tasks for those who need the help.
Broadcast History[]
The show is broadcasted in many countries, but originates from the United Kingdom where Bob is voiced by English actor Neil Morrissey. In the United Kingdom and Ireland, the block and channel aired the series between 1999 to 2013, but only aired the Original Series. However, Nick Jr. Too started airing Project: Build It sometime in 2006 with Ready, Steady, Build! being exclusive to CBeebies. In the United States, Bob the Builder originally aired on Nick Jr. from 2001 to 2004. In 2005, the broadcast rights to the series were given to PBS, which aired the show on its PBS Kids block, where the show aired the remaining episodes of the original series up until 2012 and the 2015 reboot series of Bob the Builder until 2018, when PBS lost broadcast rights to the series. The third series of the 2015 series was only shown on Qubo in August 2019 but it uses the UK dub. Qubo aired reruns of the original series as well up until 2021, when the channel was sadly shut down. From 2019 to 2022, the Bob the Builder franchise is currently on hiatus with no official announcement of any future content. In December 2022, the admin on the Bob the Builder Wiki said that a new titled Bob the Builder reboot series had started development. It was probably because most likely that both Mattel Television and WildBrain quietly started developing it and it is set to be announced and revealed sometime in 2024.
