"Bubble Blast" is the 19th episode of The Fresh Beat Band. This was the final episode produced that had Reed played by Hadley Fraser before Patrick Levis took over.
Summary[]
The episode starts off in the lobby, where Marina and Kiki come out of their rooms with brooms, saying that they are ready to clean. Shout, however, comes out of his room and says that he is ready to play music. Kiki and Marina remind him that it's Clean and Green Day and that they are going to help clean the street and be green by recycling things that they don't need. Twist comes out of his room in his pajamas with a recycling can and is excited to clean and recycle. He's a little too excited that he goes outside with his pajamas still on. Luckily, he realizes that his pajamas are still on and takes them off and throws them in his room.
Now that Twist had changed out of his pajamas, he was ready to go clean and go green. Shout, on the other hand, still wanted to play music. He first suggests that they all play a country song, so he changes into his cowboy outfit very quickly and plays an accordion. Shout then suggested that they play a Hawaiian song, so he changed into a Hawaiian outfit and played a ukulele. Twist, Kiki, and Marina try to tell Shout that cleaning and recycling can be fun and that the sooner they start, the sooner they can play music. So the Fresh Beats were getting ready for Clean and Green Day, and as they were getting ready, they sang the song "Get Up And Go Go." And while getting ready and singing, Shout kept wasting his time by putting on different outfits that weren't suitable for cleaning. He finally put on his jumpsuit and was ready to clean and recycle.
The Fresh Beats finished getting ready, and they all went outside for Clean and Green Day. Everyone else is outside cleaning, so the Fresh Beats go to The Good Note Music Store to see if Reed needs help cleaning. Shout, however, was hoping to see if Reed had any good instruments to play. At The Good Note Music Store, Reed is seen playing a flute. The Fresh Beats come over to him, and Reed reveals that he is recycling some old woodwind instruments. Reed tried to play one of his other flutes, but it sounded very rusty and eventually broke down. Kiki asked Reed if he needed help cleaning, but Reed was almost done, so he didn't need help. Since Reed didn't need any help, Shout was excited because they would be able to play music. When Shout tries to escape, Kiki and Marina stop him and tell him that even though Reed doesn't need help, there is still work to be done on the street. Reed suggested that the Fresh Beats should go to The Groovy Smoothie and see Melody since she had lots of cleaning supplies.
The Fresh Beats went over to The Groovy Smoothie to get cleaning supplies from Melody. Melody then said that she had some cleaning supplies, including sponges, soap, mops, brooms, and buckets. Melody couldn't find the buckets at first, until Kiki, Shout, and Marina stepped into them and got their feet stuck. Twist, at first, made fun of them for getting their feet stuck in buckets. Until karma gets to him and he gets his foot stuck in a bucket. The Fresh Beats try to shake the buckets off their feet, but that doesn't work. However, it gives them an idea to start dancing with the buckets on. So they dance the buckets off their feet and the buckets fly into their hands. And for Twist, the bucket flew into a recycling can he was holding.
The Fresh Beats leave The Groovy Smoothie and start to clean. They were going to sweep the street first, but the broom Shout was holding wasn't big enough to clean the street. So he rushes off to go and find a bigger broom that was destined to clean the street very well. Since Shout was very eager to play music, he was running extremely fast while sweeping the street. Since Shout finished cleaning the street, he was ready to play music. Marina tells him that it wasn't time to play music yet because the windows needed to be cleaned. Twist started to clean a window with some soapy cleaning spray. He turned away to find a squeegee to dry the soap off, and as he was turned away, Shout rushed over and dried the soap off with a massive-sized squeegee.
After Shout finished cleaning the windows, he asked the other Fresh Beats if they could all play music. Kiki tells him that they couldn't play music yet because they needed to collect bottles to recycle. So Shout quickly collected lots of bottles and cartons and had trouble carrying them. He eventually put them down and asked the other Fresh Beats if they could play music. Twist said it was almost time for them to play music; after they recycled the paper, they would be done. So Shout rapidly went off and grabbed a stack of papers and put them in a recycling bin. Kiki gives Shout the lid for the recycling can, and Shout uses it to stuff all the paper into the recycling can. Surprisingly, all of the paper was able to fit into the recycling bin.
The Fresh Beats were done cleaning and were able to play music. There was still a piece of paper left on the floor, so Shout offered to put it into the recycling bin. Kiki warned him that the recycling bin was very full. Shout argued that all he was doing was putting a little teeny-tiny piece of teeny-tiny paper in there, so it wouldn't be a problem. Noticeably, the recycling bin was so big that it started to grumble. So Shout quickly put the paper in the bin and was ready to play music. But just then, all of the paper came flying out of the trash can and made a mess all over the street. Understandably, Shout grabbed a broom to clean up the mess and was disappointed by the fact that he wouldn't be able to play music. Marina and Kiki told Shout to not worry and that they would help him clean the street and that they would play music in no time, even if they had to play a bucket, broom, or a clarinet.
Twist eventually gets an idea to use some broken woodwind instruments, along with some brushes, mops, brooms, and buckets to build a musical cleaning machine and fill it with a huge bucket of soap and water in order to clean the street and play music at the same time. Marina, for the first time, agrees with Twist's idea; they actually should make a musical cleaning machine. Kiki, Reed, and Marina concluded that they could use mops and brooms and Reed's old woodwind instruments to make the musical cleaning machine. So, as they are making the machine, the Fresh Beats sing the song "Friends Give Friends A Hand."
The Fresh Beats finished making the machine and were ready to clean up and play music. So Twist poured soap into the machine; a lot of soap, in fact. Kiki tells Twist about the vast amount of soap he was pouring, but Twist tells her that it was a very messy street that they needed to clean. So the others agree that the machine needs more soap. So Twist poured in the soap and the machine was ready to be turned on. Twist was about to push the button and kept hesitating to do so, despite being very excited to push it. Shout decided to push the button himself since Twist was taking too long to push it. Shout turned the machine on and it started to make noises, but it wasn't exactly musical. It also made lots of bubbles too.
As the Fresh Beats, Melody, and Reed were enjoying the bubbles, the machine started to go off without them noticing. Kiki then goes to grab the steering wheel for the machine. Twist, then eventually the others realize that since Kiki was holding the steering wheel, no one was driving the bubble machine. Melody and Reed hoped that the Fresh Beats would be able to catch the bubble machine, and eventually the bubble machine started to go after the Fresh Beats. The bubble machine also splattered bubbles on Reed. The Fresh Beats eventually caught up with the bubble machine, and Twist turned it off.
Clearly, the bubble machine didn't work; it only made more of a mess and filled the street with bubbles. Shout, however, thought it was a great thing that the street was filled with bubbles. Since the street was obviously still a mess, Shout had an idea to fix it. So the Fresh Beats all went to the bubble machine, and before Twist turned it on, Marina reminded the others that it would just go crazy again. Shout told Marina that it won't go crazy this time because they will actually use the steering wheel this time. Shout also tuned the machine so that the instruments would play well. Shout got the machine to work, and as they cleaned the street, the Fresh Beats sang "Clean Up Your Mood". Everyone finished cleaning the street, and it, of course, looked clean and bubbly. So the Fresh Beats ended the day by singing "Great Day," and Reed is seen stuck in a big bubble, and he gets himself out by popping the bubble.
