Chansome the Pelican is a purple pelican who was a semi-regular character in the third season of Gullah Gullah Island. He serves as friends with Binyah Binyah, Ron and Natalie Daise. He can also make usual pelican noises like whistling, squawking, and even gurgling. He appeared in almost every episode of Season Three, but by 1997, his roles were reduced to only occasionally appear, like in the episode "Barrel of Laughs." He was performed by Muppet performer and founder of 3/Design Studio, Inc. (who built the Binyah Binyah Polliwog Costume), Jim Kroupa.
