Christina Abdul (born Christina Abbi Vidal on November 18, 1981 in Whitestone, Queens, New York City, New York) is an actress known for her role as Taina Morales on the Nickelodeon TV series Taina.

Acting Career

Christina's career began when one of her teachers told her about an audition for the 1993 Michael J. Fox film Life with Mikey. She auditioned and got the role of Angie Vega in the movie and became the first child actress of Puerto Rican descent to play a role in an American film.

Since then, she has appeared in various films and television series. From 1997-1998, Christina starred as Sophia Del Bono on the TV show Nick Fresno: Licensed Teacher. She even appeared in the Disney Channel movie Brink.

In 2003, Christina appeared in the film Freaky Friday starring Lindsay Lohan.

During that same year, she starred on the short-lived ABC TV series "10-8: Officers on Duty," but let the show after two months.

In 2006, Christina did an untitled sitcom pilot along with her sisters for the ABC network (which was executive produced by George Lopez), but the show wasn't picked up by the network.

Her last acting role to date was in 2011 on the TV show Fairly Legal.

Singing Career

When Christina was 17 years old, she joined a girl group called Gemstone (along with singer\actress Jade Villalon.

In 2002, she was signed to MCA Records and was supposed to release her first single called "Tropical" and her solo debut album "White" in the summer of that same year, but it was never released.

Christina provided guest vocals on the remix to Will Smith's song "Black Suits Comin' (Nod Ya Head)" for the soundtrack to "Men in Black II." She was signed to Lupe Fiasco's 1st and 15th Entertainment label.

She recorded a track for Sabrina Bryan's workout CD "Byou" called "Anything is Possible." Christina also provided the song "Take Me Away" on the "Freaky Friday" movie soundtrack.

Personal Life

Christina was born to Manny Vidal (a tax consultant and businessman) and his wife Josie (a secretary). Both of her parents are of Puerto Rican descent.

She has three sisters named Lisa & Tanya (who are actresses and have appeared in television & theatre) and a brother named Christian.
