"Flood Warning" is the first episode of the first season of The Wild Thornberrys (though it is the third episode in production order).

The Thornberrys are in Africa to film Lions. However none are in sight. Marianne remarks to her husband, Nigel, that the opening shot is missing something but muses aloud that she can't film and drive the 'ComVee' at the same time. Their Sixteen year old daughter, Debbie, instantly volunteers to drive the behemoth motor home.Marianne starts to voice her doubts to which Debbie points out that they (Marianne and Nigel) chose to drive around in a 'whacked out survivo vehicle instead of a station wagon like normal parents.' Marianne decides to let Debbie drive and explains what everything on the dash board does. Darwin, a chimpanzee belonging to the younger daughter Eliza, expresses concern that the older of the girls is going to be driving. Eliza replies to him that Debbie may drive the ComVee but won't talk to lions. To which Darwin replies that Debbie wouldn't get eaten and gets hit in the head by a dirt clod that Donnie, a wild child, had dug up while trying to catch a bug to eat.

Debbie's first time driving the comvee gets off to a rough start and she winds up driving it into a riverbed.
