"Friended! with the Casagrandes" is the 79th episode of The Loud House, and the first episode produced for the show's fourth season. It is the first episode of the season's five-episode "...with the Casagrandes" mini-series that serves as a lead-in to The Casagrandes, and also the first appearance of Sid Chang and her family.
Ronnie Anne Santiago and Sid Chang, new best friends.
A few months after moving in with her extended family in Great Lakes City, Ronnie Anne wakes up one day and notices Rosa is in a bit of a hurry today. Rosa explains that it's because the apartment above theirs is vacant, and as the building's manager, she's going to advertise it to potential tenants. Afterwards, Ronnie Anne heads out to practice her skateboarding skills at the park. On the way over, she stops to get a hot dog with "the works" from Bruno the local hot dog vendor, and a girl standing behind her asks for one too. Later, the new girl watches Ronnie Anne riding her skateboard and jumping over a fire hydrant, and then Ronnie Anne lets her take a shot at it. The girl ultimately doesn't do well on the skateboard, but enjoys it anyway, saying she just moved here and is excited to try whatever she can.
Ronnie Anne and the new girl, whose name is Sid Chang, quickly become friends. Things get even more exciting when they find out that Sid's family - consisting of her parents Stanley and Becca, and her younger sister Adelaide - have been looking at the vacant apartment and are seriously considering living there. Excited that her new best friend could be her neighbor, Ronnie Anne begs her abuela to give them the apartment, but Rosa doesn't have the power to do so since she's only the manager. Ronnie Anne then tells her brother and cousins all about the Changs and how she wants them to move in to the apartment. The Casagrande kids also like the Chang family and want them as their neighbors, and Bobby's glad to see Ronnie Anne's found a new friend, so they're all willing to help her with her plan.
That afternoon, while CJ keeps Rosa distracted, Bobby and Carl use several tricks to dissuade other people from checking out the apartment, while Ronnie Anne and Carlota run around town, taking down all the fliers Rosa put up advertising the apartment. After it seems no one else has come to look at the apartment, Rosa then gets a call from her boss, and the building's owner, Mr. Scully; he says that he's going to send some personal friends of his, a married couple called the Reynolds, to look at the apartment. Ronnie Anne then comes up with another plan to make sure the Reynolds don't buy the apartment.
Carl distracts Rosa by pretending he's hungry and takes the apartment keys out of her pocket while she's not looking, passing them to Ronnie Anne. She and Sid then go into the apartment and make the place look as terrible as possible, including painting huge cracks in the walls, gluing the windows open, and putting stinky items all over the rooms. Then, when Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds arrive, Ronnie Anne and Carlota pretend that Carl is sick to again distract Rosa. With Rosa busy looking after Carl, Ronnie Anne shows the apartment to the Reynolds herself. Sure enough, Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds are appalled at the seemingly-poor condition of the apartment and decide not to take it. After they leave, Ronnie Anne tells Rosa that they weren't interested because the building doesn't have an elevator.
Later that day, as Ronnie Anne and her cousins are celebrating the prospect of getting the Changs as their neighbors, they suddenly overhear Mr. Scully having shown up, saying he's going to have to fire Rosa because she allegedly hasn't been taking care of the vacant apartment. Rosa doesn't understand what he's talking about, and is perplexed when she sees how terrible the apartment now looks. Ronnie Anne confesses to Mr. Scully that she made the apartment look bad because of how much she wanted Sid as her neighbor, and begs him not to fire her abuela.
Later, Ronnie Anne is sulking in her bedroom when Maria and Rosa come in, saying they're disappointed in her for what she did, but thankfully, Mr. Scully has decided not to fire Rosa. However, Ronnie Anne is then told that she has to undo the "damage" she did to the apartment. After fixing up the apartment (with a little help from Sergio), Ronnie Anne heads outside to welcome the apartment's new occupants. Fortunately, said occupants turn out to be the Chang family. As it turns out, Mr. Scully was touched by what she said about wanting her new best friend as her neighbor, so he gave the Reynolds an apartment in one of his other buildings and is letting the Changs move in to the one above the Santiagos' and Casagrandes' after all, much to Ronnie Anne and Sid's delight.
Trivia[]
In addition to this episode being the first appearance of the Chang family and Mr. Scully, Bobby and Ronnie Anne's father, Arturo, is seen for the first time in a photo on Ronnie Anne's phone. It is revealed here that he and Maria are separated (with The Casagrandes episode "Operation Dad" eventually confirming that they are divorced) and that he is currently living in Peru.
