Fun Size is a 2012 American teen comedy film written by Max Werner and is the feature directorial debut of Josh Schwartz. The film stars Victoria Justice, Jane Levy, Thomas McDonell, Chelsea Handler, Thomas Mann, and Johnny Knoxville.

Plot

Wren (Victoria Justice) is invited to a Halloween party by her crush, Aaron Riley (Thomas McDonell), but she is also forced by her mother (Chelsea Handler) to take her oddball little brother Albert (Jackson Nicoll) with her when she goes out trick-or-treating on Halloween. When she goes to the party instead, she loses him and must find him before her mother finds out.

Reception

Ever since the first trailer has been released, it already received negative audience reception, criticizing the adult humor in the trailer that may not be suitable for kids, thinking that Nickelodeon Movies is not for kid's after all, while praising the cast members performance, funny jokes, and the storyline. The film was a box office failure and is the lowest grossing film from Nickelodeon Movies.

Trivia

  • This is Nickelodeon Movies' second film to get a PG-13 rating, after Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging.
    • In conclusion, it is also the first to be released theatrically in the United States. Although, many viewers thought Fun Size was the first to receive the rating.
  • This film was originally going to be produced by Nickelodeon's partner, MTV Films, but has transferred it's rights to Nickelodeon Movies.
  • Many viewers, parents, and film critics have complained the film's inappropriate content, even though this film was produced by Nickelodeon Movies.
    • As a result, this film bombed at the domestic box office, only earning around $10 million, while being produced with a $14 million budget.
