==Biography==
Grandpa's father ran the [[Sunset Arms Boarding House]] "in the old days".  Although his exact birthdate is never given, he was born sometime in the 19th century, since Phil stated in ''[[Hey Arnold!: The Movie]]'' that he won the Sunset Arms in a card game in the 1890s.

He was in a flashback in "[[Sally's Comet]]". Phil mentions that he and his father saw Sally's Comet 70 years ago, when there was less artificial light in the sky. Additionally, in a flashback in "[[Eating Contest]]", he is seen cheering for Phil.

He died at the age of 91 sometime before the series began ("[[Grandpa's Birthday]]").
