This page is a list of episodes in the fifth season of Hey Arnold! It consisted of 32 quarter-hour episodes, two half-hour specials, and the series' only hour-long special, "The Journal".

In this season, Alex D. Linz replaced Spencer Klein as Arnold, and Taylor Gifaldi replaced Sam Gifaldi as Sid.

		Arnold, Gerald, Harold, Sid and Eugene go on a fishing trip with their fathers and Phil.

		When Arnold mistakenly leaves a bag of money - exactly $3,937 that he, Sid, and Gerald found in an alley and were planning to return - with an old lady with a peg leg, pink hair, and one eyebrow, Sid doesn't believe his story and thinks Arnold took the money for himself, escalating into the whole class turning against him.

		Helga loses her locket inscribed with her name, and Arnold's Grandpa finds it. Helga has to get it back before Arnold and his Grandpa open it.

		Sid was the champion frog-catcher of P.S. 118 and was going to be in the Annual Frog-Catching Contest until he becomes obsessively clean after watching a hygiene film.

		After Arnold accidentally hits Helga on the head with a baseball, she develops amnesia, and he takes care of her. Wanting to continue getting Arnold's attention, Helga pretends to have amnesia after she recovers.

		Harold, Stinky and Sid are on the run after they think they blew up the police station.

		The new owner of the restaurant where Mr. Hyunh works wants to make it a "family restaurant", and thus wants his new head chef to be a family man, so Mr. Hyunh pretends to be one — with Suzie as his wife, Arnold as his son, and Grandpa as his father.

		Phoebe gets embarrassed after she farts into a microphone in front of a huge audience.

		When Mr. Simmons is named City Teacher of the Year, he discovers a film crew will be recording him for a day, so he makes his students rehearse a "perfect" day.

		After Big Bob has a heart attack, he tries to become nicer. When he goes overboard and announces the family will be walking to Oregon to join a commune, it's up to Helga to get her dad back.

		After an origami marriage predictor predicts Arnold and Helga will get married, they each have a dream about a married life with each other.

		Gerald's little sister Timberly develops a crush on Arnold after he sticks up for her and lets her hang out with them.
		"Eugene, Eugene!"	January 28, 2003
		Eugene gets the lead role in the 4th grade production of "Eugene, Eugene", but the embittered director removes all signs of hope from the script. Meanwhile, Lila gets the role of the leading lady in the play and with Arnold playing the villain pursuing her, Helga attempts to sabotage her during the play.
98		"April Fool's Day"	April 1, 2002
		It's April Fool's Day and Helga has targeted Arnold as her practical joke victim for the day. When Helga goes one prank too far, Arnold stages a retaliation and brings in Grandpa's prized practical joke.

		Arnold finds his father's journal, which tells the story of how his parents met, how they got Abner, his birth, why they went on their "last" trip... and one last surprise.
