When Spencer makes an electromagnetic Christmas tree, the tree is set on fire, which makes Carly angry at Spencer because the fire destroys the presents Carly got for Spencer. Carly wishes that Spencer is born "normal". Carly's guardian angel, Mitch (Danny Woodburn), makes this wish come true. This results in the iCarly webshow no longer existing, unbeknownst to Carly at first. The next day at school, Sam is absent, Freddie is not friends with Carly and is dating a rude girl, and, to make things worse, Nevel Papperman (Reed Alexander) is somehow Carly's boyfriend (oddly, even though Carly only met Nevel before because of iCarly, and Nevel does not go to Ridgeway Junior High). Carly questions Mitch about Sam's disappearance, and Carly is taken to the Juvenile Detention Center, where Sam is being held. Carly finds out that Sam is no longer friends with her, either. The reason Sam was arrested is because Spencer saw her as a bad girl and didn't want Carly to be friends with her, so Sam got into trouble without Carly's good influence. Carly returns home and then is told that Mrs. Benson and Spencer are now engaged, making Carly angry at what her life has become. Carly then walks up the stairs and finds out that, the iCarly studio is now just a room filled with boxes. And because Freddie and Sam were never her friends, iCarly never existed, either. Carly cries, learning how much the world would change if Spencer is born normal. Mitch secretly turns her world back to the way it was before, making Spencer abnormal and eccentric again. Carly is now happy with the electromagnetic Christmas tree, and Carly, Sam, Freddie, and Spencer have a good Christmas together in the end.
