Jimbo is the main deuteragonist of Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank. He is Hank's sensei since he rescued him from the canine bullies.

Biography[]

Past[]

During his time, Jimbo was already a great samurai when he saved Hank from the gang of bullies. Eventually, however, he attacked a birthday party by mistake, which he broke his honor.

Present[]

Later, Jimbo retired to a village of Kakamucho, indulging on catnip, until he meets Hank again, who relies on the former's assistance. The samurai master initially refuses to train the dog, but after some encouragement from Emiko, he reluctantly agrees to do so, in order to help the outcast canine overcome the townspeople's hostility. While training with Jimbo, Hank manages to subdue Sumo, an immensely strong, dim-witted, yet philosophical henchman that Ika Chu sent to drive out the townspeople quicker. The townspeople see Hank as a hero, but his newfound popularity ends up going to Hank's head, and he neglects his training, which causes a fallout between him and Jimbo. Ika Chu takes Hank to a private nightclub, in order to distract him as his thugs trash Kakamucho. Hank returns to a devastated town and, after a heated argument with Jimbo, he decides to go home, but an origami figure of himself reminds him of his samurai oath.

Jimbo, meanwhile, attempts to storm Ika Chu's palace in hopes to free Sumo, who was captured by Ika Chu's goons. Hank returns in order to help him out. With Kakamucho saved and upon Ika Chu's defeat, the impressed Shogun decides to appoint Jimbo as the new samurai, but he gives the position to Hank. Hank however, feels that he is not entirely ready, so he ends up giving the position to Emiko, a kitten who also desires to be a samurai. Hank and Jimbo continue to train in their own time, with their relationship mended.

Appearance[]

Jimbo is a Russian blue cat who has a short ponytail. He also wears a blue samurai gi.

Personality[]

At first glance, Jimbo can be quite standoffish and cynical, pulling no punches when it comes to training Hank, a nervous beagle. Likewise, he accurately describes Hank as a "selfish idiot" who only wants to be a samurai for the glory and martial prowess. However, Jimbo slowly warms up to Hank when the latter shows determination and kindness towards the sumo-wrestling cat named Sumo. He sticks to his ideals that being a good samurai is all about performing his duty to protect the weak even while abroad. He was also a bit sauced at the time, so his memory of the event is hazy. kindhearted generous gentle loving caring sweet happy smart friendly kind

Trivia[]
