June Lucille Forer, better known as June Foray (September 18, 1917 – July 26, 2017), was an American voice actress, producer, screenwriter and radio personality who provided voices for animated films and television programs from 1943 to 2014, and was one of the industry's best-known icons. Some of her most famous roles included Rocky J. Squirrel and Natasha Fatale from The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle, and Granny and Witch Hazel in various Warner Bros. cartoons, among others. Warner Bros. director Chuck Jones is reported to have said, "June Foray is not the female Mel Blanc, Mel Blanc is the male June Foray."
For Nickelodeon, Foray provided voice work in the Rugrats episode "Sour Pickles", fittingly voicing the characters of Blocky and Svetlana, parodies of the Rocky and Bullwinkle characters she voiced. (Interestingly, at the time the episode aired, Rocky and Bullwinkle reruns were airing on Nickelodeon under the name Bullwinkle's Moose-a-Rama.) She also voiced a few one-shot characters in Random! Cartoons.
On July 26, 2017, Foray's caretaker, Dave Nimitz, reported that Foray had died earlier in the day at her home in Los Angeles at the age of 99 due to natural causes.
