Olmec tells the legend of a woman who explored northern Africa in the 1890s named Mary Kingsley. Her African guide had warned her about cannibals in the town of Efoua, but the chief gave Mary the dried hands and feet of a previous house guest. She was so horrified that she tossed the sack of shriveled hands and feet, but a chimpanzee retrieved them and one of the hands found its way to the temple. It can be found in the Swamp. Olmec tells the legend of how Benjamin Franklin discovered electricity. He was flying a kite with a key attached to its tail during a thunderstorm and lightning hit the kite. Olmec tells the legend of Catherine de' Medici and her passion for building castles. The Great Linguini had predicted that she would be tormented by dreams if she would live in a new castle. A day later, Catherine had her workmen demolish the new palace and gave the Great Linguini a golden pepperoni, which was stolen after the Linguini's death and found its way to the temple. Olmec tells the legend of Paul Bunyan and his giant blue ox named Babe. Paul saved Babe's enormous iron nose ring after she died and it found its way to the temple. It can be found in the King's Storeroom. This is the fifty-eighth episode in the production order. | |||

Olmec tells the legend of Grandy Nanny, who was the most queen of a group of escaped slaves who fended off the army sent to Jamaica by the British to capture them. She taught her men to shoot and then do flips so they would be moving targets. Grandy Nanny could apparently also catch the British cannonballs and bullets and hurl them back twice as hard. One day when the colonel of the British army had enough, he decided that a silver cannonball should be used to defeat Grandy Nanny. When the cannonball was shot at her, she caught it between her teeth and bounced off into the woods. The British granted the slaves their freedom and years later, the silver cannonball disappeared into the temple. It can be found in the Swamp. Olmec tells the legend of when Meriwether Lewis and William Clark set out for Oregon along the Missouri River with fifty men, including an African-American named York. One day, while Clark and his men were setting up camp, a group of members from the Blackfeet Nation came into camp with their weapons drawn. York was brave when the chief walked up to him. As the chief had never seen a man with dark skin, he thought York would have been a powerful wizard. He gave York his bone necklace as an apology for disturbing him, then the chief signaled his braves and withdrew. Later on, the bone necklace found its way to the temple. Olmec tells the legend of Nostradamus and how the Queen of France relied on his predictions. A page once lost her favorite hunting dog and Nostradamus said that he would be found on the road to Orléans and he was right. The queen was so grateful that she had the leash gold-plated and gave it to Nostradamus as a token of thanks. When Nostradamus died, the leash rose into midair and floated to Orléans and then all the way to the temple. It can be found in the Room of the Secret Password. Olmec tells the legend of Leif Erikson's sister Freydís, who used a bucket that was normally for cow milking as a weapon against a band of hostile Eskimos called Skrælings. She conked two Skrælings on the head with the bucket and wrestled two more to the ground. With how startled the Skrælings were, they ran back to their boats and left. Freydís' milk bucket was lost in the fray and found its way to the temple. It can be found in the Observatory. This is the seventy-fifth episode in the production order. | |||

Olmec tells the legend of when Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid robbed trains, banks and stages with the Hole in the Wall Gang without ever killing anyone. Their robberies were planned carefully and they always had fresh horses concealed along their escape route so they could elude any posse that chased them. Butch Cassidy, the Sundance Kid and the Hole in the Wall Gang were also especially polite to ladies. One day when Butch was robbing a train, a beautiful young woman recognized him and he handed her a silver horseshoe engraved with his initials, which was treasured for the young woman's life but disappeared into the temple. Olmec tells the legend of Napoleon Bonaparte when he was trying to come up with a title for himself after conquering much of the world. It was decided that his title should be "Holy Roman Emperor". When Napoleon's trusty valet named Pierre wanted to give back his two-cornered hat, Napoleon said he would not need it. When Napoleon was thrown out of France, Pierre was lost at sea and Napoleon's two-cornered hat found its way to the temple. It can be found in the King's Storeroom. Olmec tells the legend of when Dædalus and his son Icarus were held captive by an evil king and tried to escape. Icarus wore two sets of wings that Dædalus built out of wax and feathers so he could fly out of captivity. Dædalus warned Icarus that the sun would melt his wings if he flew too high. Unfortunately, Icarus forgot his father's advice once he was airborne. As Icarus flew higher, the sun got hotter and melted the wax in his wings. The wings broke apart and Icaurs plunged down into the ocean. A part of one of Icarus' wings floated ashore to the temple. It can be found in the Shrine of the Silver Monkey. Olmec tells the legend of when British General Ross tried to arrest Dolley Madison in the War of 1812. Ross may have protested, but dinner smelled so good. Dolley's servants secretly took the paintings and documents out the back door of the White House. When Dolley got up for water, the General grabbed her arm, but she gave him her bonnet as a collateral and then she skipped out the back door to Virginia with the White House valuables. General Ross burned the White House down, but kept Dolley's bonnet, which ended up in the temple. It can be found in the Jester's Court. Olmec tells the legend of when Ludwig II of Bavaria had a rather unlikely dinner guest, which was his horse Cosa-Rara. The dinner was at a table that was long enough to seat one hundred people but was only set for two. Ludwig ladled up some soup for Cosa-Rara and tried to talk to her only to hear neighing. Just before dessert, Ludwig had a present for Cosa-Rara, which which was a plumed headdress. Ludwig was eventually declared insane and the headdress disappeared into the temple. Olmec tells the legend of when Simón Bolívar led a revolt against the King of Spain. Bolívar's men swept through Venezuela, but an enormous earthquake flattened the capital Caracas. It is said that Bolívar had plucked a stone from the rubble and carved on it was the crown of the King of Spain, which had cracked in half. He freed the people from the royal tyranny and when Bolívar died, the cracked crown vanished into the temple. It can be found in the Observatory. 56 | "The Imperial Purple Robe of Empress Theodora" | July 25, 1994 | |
Olmec tells the legend of Empress Theodora, who was the wife of Emperor Justinian and rules Constantinople in the early 500s. She passed so many laws which helped the common people and she is said to have worn the pants in the royal family. When a rebellion threatened to topple the Emperor, Justinian's generals found him in a panic. Theodora rallied the generals and with Justinian in the lead, the two conquered the rebels. Theodora's brave words were credited with saving the empire, not to mention her imperial purple robe, which found its way to the temple. It can be found in the Mine Shaft. 57 | "The Lost Love Letter of Captain John Smith" | July 26, 1994 | |
Olmec tells the legend of when the governor of Jamestown, Captain John Smith, was captured by the Algonquians in the mid-1600s. He was carried struggling into a clearing and thrown upon a great boulder before Chief Powhatan. Before John Smith could be executed, the daughter of Powhatan named Pocahontas told her father not to hurt him, so the chief spared the Englishman's life. All winter long, Pocahontas visited her new boyfriend, John Smith, at Jamestown, bringing food to the colonists and warning them of danger. Of all of the colonists, one named Prunella Pemberwick was not grateful as she had a crush on John Smith herself. When John Smith was suddenly called back to England, he left a love letter for Pocahontas, but Prunella threw that letter away and told Pocahontas that John had died. The love letter found its way to the temple. It can be found in the Dark Forest. This is the forty-sixth episode in the production order. | |||

Olmec tells the legend of Henry Stanley's search for Doctor Livingstone. Stanley went to Zanzibar and Unyanyembe until he finally found Livingstone in Ujiji. Doctor Livingstone gave Henry Stanley his diary to prove the two had met. The diary found its way to the temple. It can be found in the Shrine of the Silver Monkey. Olmec tells the legend of a Persian storyteller named Scheherazade, who was a daughter of a vizier in charge of wife searchers for King Shahrayar. Shahrayar would marry a new bride every evening and would have her done away with every morning. Scheherazade married the king and told him a story about an Arabian adventurer after dinner, leaving him spellbound until dawn. Scheherazade would spin her incredible tales every night and Shahrayar would spare her life every morning. The king fell in love and gave Scheherazade a priceless ivory elephant and let her redecorate the palace. The ivory elephant found its way to the temple. It can be found in Medusa's Lair. Olmec tells the legend of Múlàn and how she saved her father's life. She had farmed their land all by herself as her father was too ill to do any work. An army officer had knocked at the door one night as Múlàn prepared her father's dinner. Múlàn had dressed up as a man and reported for duty to avoid being punished. After twelve years, she was released and revealed her secret, which spread quickly throughout all of China. The Emperor sent Múlàn a special sash made of silk in honor of her deed, which found its way to the temple. It can be found in the Room of the Secret Password. Olmec tells the legend of Nzinga, was the queen of the Ndongo Tribe in the 1600s. When she was young, her brother sent her to make a treaty with the Portuguese governor in Luanda, which is the capital of modern Angola. The Portuguese made the treaty on Nzinga's terms and when her brother died, she became queen and kept her people free for more than thirty years. Nzinga's grateful subjects treasured her crown long after she died and it found its way to the temple. It can be found in the Lightning Room. Olmec tells the legend of famous scholar named Ahmad Baba. When the caliph of Morocco conquered the city of Timbuktu, Ahmad was captured and returned to Morocco in chains. One day when the caliph reviewed the fate of his prisoners, Ahmad fearlessly stepped forward telling him to show himself. The caliph came out as a short man with a very tall turban, which he gave to Ahmad to set him free. Later on, the tall turban found its way to the temple. It can be found in the Observatory. Olmec tells the legend of an adventurous Frenchwoman in the early 1800s named Jeanne La Mystere. When her fiancé, Pierre Chauvet, was leaving to explore the New World, Jeanne begged to go with him. Pierre said that the voyage would be too long and dangerous and is no place for a woman, so she disguised herself as a man, taking the name "Little John" and signed on as a cabin boy. Strangely enough, even Pierre did not recognize Jeanne and gave her difficult chores. All summer long, she trudged along with other members of the expedition. Suddenly in Arkansas, Pierre was attacked by a wildcat and Little John wrestled it into a hammerlock. The wildcat was so scared and lost its tail, which Little John kept for a souvenir. She surprised Pierre when she revealed herself to be his fiancé Jeanne. On the way back to France, the lion tail disappeared into the temple. It can be found in the Shrine of the Silver Monkey. Olmec tells the legend of when Roxelana, the sultaness of the Ottaman Empire, married Sultan Suleiman. Roxelana was a harem girl who became so powerful that she began a line of women rulers that lasted a century. When Roxelana entered Suleiman's throne room to convince him to marry her, Suleiman said that no sultan had married in two centuries. However, Roxelana was aware of Suleiman's plot to overthrow the Grand Vizier. Suleiman married Roxelana and gave her his sacred ring, which made her the most powerful woman in the empire. Later on, the ring found its way to the temple. It can be found in the Dark Forest. This is the sixty-first episode in the production order. | |||

Olmec tells the legend of an American patriot who served as a spy in the Revolutionary War named Nathan Hale, who was arrested for trying to cross British lines. He was brought before General Howe, who was the leader of the British army. Nathan lied to General Howe about being a Dutch schoolteacher and told him that his mother was knitting socks for the soldiers as to why there was a secret battle plan in his boot. Once Nathan accidentally revealed himself to be a spy, he was taken away by the British army and the battle plan disappeared into the temple. Olmec tells the legend of Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves. The thieves' leader shouted "Open Sesame!" and revealed a cave filled with golden treasures piled everywhere. Ali Baba waited for the thieves to leave to shout out the secret password and took home a small golden stallion home. Once he arrived home he told his brother Bobby (really Cassim) Baba the whole story. Ali Baba's brother went to the cave with five mules and loaded up, but he was so excited that he could not remember the password. However, when the forty thieves returned, they did him in and the golden stallion stayed in Ali Baba's family for generations until it ended up in the temple. Olmec tells the legend of when Attila the Hun organized his nomadic people into a fierce army that looted and burned its way across Europe. Attila and his army were poised outside the gates of Rome and before him stood the local chieftain and his beautiful daughter. He was feeling cranky because of the humidity and threw down his golden goblet in disgust, which was forgotten on his way to Budapest and ended up in the temple. It can be found in the Mine Shaft. Olmec tells the legend of when Harriet Tubman led escaped slaves to freedom. Harriet told the runaway slaves that the slaveowners' bloodhounds would lose their scent if they enter a swamp. The slaves followed her across the swamp and traveled north on foot, sleeping in the barns and cellars of people who dared to hide them. Across the swamp, the bloodhounds lost the scent of the runaway slaves and the white masters found nothing but Harriet's walking stick stuck in the mud, which later disappeared into the temple.
