Madame Gazelle is a recurring character in Peppa Pig.

Biography

Madame Gazelle is a recurring character in the series. She is one of the only recurring characters to not have an instant family. She is the triplet sister of Greta and Gretel Gazelle, both of which are minor characters in the show. She is a schoolteacher and teaches at an old-fashioned school, which is referred to as "the playgroup." She is also very wise and has many talents. She can speak multiple languages, as seen in Talking, and she is very athletic because she won a trophy for skiing, as seen in Snowy Mountain. She can dance professionally, play the guitar, and sing. Besides teaching, she also works additional jobs such as driving a school bus and playing music. She plays in a band called The Rocking Gazelles with her sisters.

Personality

Madame Gazelle is kindhearted, inclusive, brave, and outgoing. She cares about her children and always tries to accommodate them, and she often tells them stories about teaching their mummies and daddies when they were little. In Mr. Bull is Getting Married!, Madame Gazelle notifies the town to help out Mr. Bull when she discovers that he is getting married. In Numbers, she includes Daddy Pig in their activity when he shows up to playgroup too early, and in School Camp, she sings to the children when they cannot sleep at night. She is also lazy, as seen in Kiddie Workout!, when she initially refuses to exercise. Despite being a nice teacher, Madame Gazelle can sometimes be stern. An example of this can be seen in Move to Music, when she refuses to make the radio "go wrong again." She can also become snappy and impatient when she cannot do something. This is seen in Peggi and Pandora, when she is unable to find her phone in the classroom.

Appearance

She's a pale tan gazelle with a wrinkled appearance, being older. She has pale pink cheeks and dark pink lips. She wears pale blue-grey makeup. Her nose is pale brown, and on top of her head are two black horns. She wears black shoes like everyone else on the show, and a dark mauve dress.

Other outfits

In Chinese New Year, she celebrates Chinese new year with a dragon outfit.

In Guinea Pigs, she wears a purple bikini that shows her belly button and pink sunglasses and is barefoot.

In Sun, Sea And Snow, she wears a black one piece swimming costume with blue goggles and is barefoot.

• She was shown teaching ballet class to the children in one episode.
• The Rocking Gazelles call her Gigi, making her the first adult character to have their real name revealed.
  • The second being Grampy Rabbit as Reggie Rabbit.
• She is named Mrs. Gazelle in the American dub on Tickle U and she speaks with an Indian accent. However, she is French in the main series.
• She has a French accent like her sisters.
• Just like Daddy Pig, she also has a head showing one of her eyes, which is not present on the child characters.
• She shares the same voice actor as Mummy Pig in the series.
