Michelle Christine Trachtenberg (October 11, 1985 - February 26, 2025) was an American television and film actress. She is known for her roles as Dawn Summers in the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer (2000–03) and as Georgina Sparks in Gossip Girl (2008–present), and in the films Inspector Gadget (1999); EuroTrip (2004); Ice Princess (2005); Black Christmas (2006) and 17 Again (2009).
Trachtenberg's career started on Nickelodeon, first as Elsie Soaperstein in the Clarissa Explains It All episode "Babysitting" and then as Nona Mecklenberg on The Adventures of Pete & Pete from 1994 to 1996. She also starred as Harriet Welsch in the first theatrical Nickelodeon Movie, Harriet the Spy, in 1996. She also appeared as a panelist in at least one episode of the game show Figure It Out and as a prankster in an episode of Space Cases. In 1998, she appeared as herself alongside Amanda Bynes in the video letter of the Blue's Clues episode "Blue's Birthday".
She had no children, but her widespread exposure as a child actress, including fictional spy work, led her to become concerned about children. As a young adult, she joined an online role-playing group called Wandering Curiously that also performed online undercover work. This focused largely on catching sexual predators.
After having diabetes, Trachtenberg was found dead in February 26, 2025 at the age of 39.
