My Life as a Teenage Robot: Alternaversity

Alternaversity is a written story, released by Rob Renzetti, starting on August 1, 2023 with new chapters released irregularly. It serves as a continuation of sorts to My Life as a Teenage Robot, and is the first new My Life as a Teenage Robot content since the original series ended in 2006.

Alternaversity was announced on Rob Renzetti's official twitter account on June 20, 2023, as unnamed written story that it will be published on Renzetti's online newsletter.

Prior to it, Renzetti announced in a Livestream with AnimationConvo on June 8, 2023 that he will publish a written story. There won't be any animation, but on July 26, 2023 Renzetti announced on Instagram that the story will have illustrations by Alex Kirwan, who also worked as art director on the original show.

As Renzetti stated on Twitter on June 21, 2023, the only way to read the story is signing to his newsletter.

Summary

Chapter 1 - August 1, 2023

Jenny is flying in space and just stopping a probe from crashing to earth. The probe is from Skyway Patrol and gained consciousness during its time. While she's busy putting out her boot-boosters, she talks to the probe about her hairdo and how she needs a new look for the new term at Tremorton High, which starts today. Dr. Wakeman joins them via screen and reminds Jenny to stop talking about fashion and get on with her work. Meanwhile, the probe expresses its desire to crash to Earth. Jenny remembers the summer and that the Crust cousins could probably live abroad for a year. When she suggests the probe drop her on the moon, it wants to continue crashing to earth, whereupon Jenny continues to rush helplessly along.

Chapter 2 - August 8, 2023

Jenny successfully defeated the probe's attacking on earth by hurling it at the sun, whereupon it explodes. However, Jenny's look suffers so badly that she gets dirty and, in her opinion, can no longer show up at Tremorton High.

Chapter 3 - August 15, 2023

Jenny had been wrecked by the X-Plor-R and has been frustrated and raged. While she was traveling back to Earth going as far where Mars was, when she got back to Earth, she had suddenly realized that she has school in a matter of minutes and Jenny decides if she wanted to be repaired / getting her Hot Rod paint job again or go to Sheldon Lee to be fixed. Jenny can't be repaired because the shop is closed so, Plan B is Sheldon.

Chapter 4 - August 22, 2023

Jenny's next plan was Sheldon Lee. So, she went running to find Sheldon and found him but Sheldon was in a hurry to get to his Homeroom while Jenny tried to convince Sheldon to repair her while Sheldon just couldn't. Jenny also asked Sheldon to fix her with a rake and trowel while Sheldon said "I don't think a rake or a trowel is going to do you much good." While Sheldon was trying to escape from Jenny, they stumbled across Brad Carbunkle while Jenny asked Brad to force Sheldon to fix her appearance. Brad also said "Uh, sorry Jen, but I don't think a trowel or a rake is going to do you much good." After that, Brad came up with a plan to hide Jenny behind her with him and Sheldon. The plan failed and Vice Principal Razinski caught them and Jenny had been in trouble.

Chapter 5 - September 8, 2023

Jenny was going to go to her next class having 5 minutes to get their while Jeremy Pistol and Melancholia Adams saw her asking where she was off to. Jenny had approached them and saw them and while they talked, they were going to give Jenny a new costume change and it was a goth look. Jenny loved her new costume change and went with it.

Chapter 6 - September 19, 2023

Jenny was amazed by her new costume change and thanked Jeremy and Melancholia. Jenny, Jeremy and Melancholia talked a lot that day and even sat with each other at Lunch. Trouble was afoot seeing the Crust Cousins both Brit and Tiff and a new 3rd Crust Cousin. Jenny could not believe who she was seeing and said "3!"

Chapter 7 - January 21, 2024

Tiff and Brit introduced their new cousin Epiphany Piff Crust to the whole school. Everyone was shocked to see the new Crust Cousin. They were even more shocked that Piff Crust introduced herself in the nicest, sweetest way. Don tried to make a move on her, but Tiff swats him away. Tiff then tells her that Don was a 'boy toy'. Piff then sees Jenny and becomes very happy to see her, kissing her hands and declaring herself to be Jenny's fan, much to Jenny's shock.

Chapter 22 - October 2024

Jenny, Brad, and Tuck to Operation: Crush the Crust Cousins are succedeed, but the Alternaversity goes awry.

• Renzetti claims that he never read any My Life as a Teenage Robot fan-fiction, because he didn't want to steal anyone's ideas for Alternaversity.
• The first chapter was published on August 1, 2023 - exactly 20 years after the American premiere of the series (although the series premiered worldwide on October 18, 2002 in Australia).
• This is the first officially published My Life as a Teenage Robot content Renzetti has worked on, since the premiere of Turncoats on June 16, 2006 - making it, at 6,255 days, the longest gap between the release of new My Life as a Teenage Robot-content.
  • This is the first time in 17 years that Jenny has a new costume change.
• Renzetti reveals the characters they aged up.
