Nick Toonsters was a television channel in the United Kingdom launched on 18 August 2008 on the Sky Digital network on Channel 630. It is a spinoff channel for NickToons from Nickelodeon in the UK. Its licence first appeared on the 'OFCOM' website in September 2007 (initially named "Nick Toons 2", this was changed to Nick Toonsters on 3 July 2008). [1] Nick Toonsters was for 5-8 year olds and showed older cartoons from Nicktoons and broadcasted from 7am to 7pm. The channel timeshared with Comedy Central Extra +1, The 1-hour timeshift service of Comedy Central Extra which was reduced hours from 4 August 2008. The channel was replaced with Nicktoons Replay on August 1, 2009, itself being replaced with Nick Jr +1 on October 1, 2012.
The channel launched with a Rugrats marathon a week before commencing its regular schedule, at first exclusively formed of "classic" shows. In more recent months, Nickelodeon added screenings of newer programs such as The Fairly OddParents, SpongeBob SquarePants, and The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius on holidays and weekends.
