Nick Austria

Logo of Nick Austria until August 1, 2023

Nickelodeon Austria is the German-speaking private television station in Austria from Nickelodeon, the children's program from ViacomCBS Networks International. The station broadcast from June 1, 2006 to December 31, 2010 from morning to early evening on a common frequency with VIVA Austria, from January 1, 2011 to September 30, 2014 and since October 1, 2021 Nick Austria shares the Broadcast slot with Comedy Central Austria. From October 1, 2014, Nick Austria had its own slot depending on the chosen reception method and thus broadcast all day (from 9:00 p.m. as Nicknight)[3].

The broadcast program from Nick Austria was almost identical to that from Nick Germany at the beginning, they only differed in regional advertising windows. As a result, the commercial breaks on the two channels were not always exactly the same length. In contrast to what is usual, this meant that the start of the individual programs for Austria was usually delayed by several minutes. From around mid-2016, the same program as on Nick Germany was no longer broadcast, instead the program was taken over by Nick Switzerland. As of April 20, 2020, the content of Nickelodeon Austria's own website was removed and users are redirected to the German site instead.

Since October 1, 2021, Nick Austria has been broadcasting from 1:00 a.m. to 8:15 p.m. The remaining airtime is filled with Comedy Central Austria. As a result, Nicknight was discontinued. Nickelodeon Central and Eastern Europe taken over, only the commercial breaks are switched separately and are tailored to Austria. The same applies to Nick Switzerland. The trailers and commercial breakers refer to Nickelodeon, but the corner logo is unchanged as Nick Austria on the air.
