Nickelodeon (Russia and CIS) was a children's channel broadcasting in Russia, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries and all of the other Post-Soviet countries that was launched on November 15, 1998. The channel is broadcast in Russian and English. Both soundtracks are available.From January 1, 2015 channel started airing without commercials. Also from September 17, 2011 channel airs in 16:9 format.
From June 1, 2017 is starting to be referred as Nick.
The High-Definition simulcast started broadcasting on October 4, 2011, becoming the first kids channel throughout the CIS countries to broadcast in HD.
Nickelodeon on TNT
On Russian television, the block was opened on September 1, 2003 on TNT. The official name of the block: "Nickelodeon on TNT."The block was broadcast daily in the morning and afternoon broadcasting schedule. The animated series of the late 90s - the beginning of the 00s, as well as the premieres were shown.From September 1, 2013, the block did not appear on TNT, but some Nickelodeon animated series were broadcast in the morning block.Since February 29, 2016, the cartoons from Nickelodeon have stopped coming out on weekends. Also reduced showing animated series on weekdays.From February 29, 2016 to April 24, 2017, on weekdays at 7 am, the only and the last animated series from the Nickelodeon TV channel - “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” was broadcast.From April 25, 2017, the TNT animation block was finally closed.

Criticism
The channel has been criticized more than once due to a rare software update. In the period from 2004 to 2008, only 3 new shows appeared, and all game programs and programs in the live-action genre were taken off the air. At the beginning of 2008, two new cartoons appeared and a new program, “Mr. Meaty” (which was later taken off the air due to “unchildren” humor) and “Catscratch”, which marked the beginning of a new channel season. After that, the content of the channel began to be updated almost every month.
Closure
On April 28, 2022 Nickelodeon Closed in Russia due to the war in Ukraine. On December 14, 2022 Nickelodeon Closed in the rest of CIS and Was Replaced by Nickelodeon CEE Outside of Russia and Belarus.
