2010 event[]

Summary[]

The special brought together stars of multiple Nick Jr. shows (both animated and live action) and real life musical guests such as Wyclef Jean, The Roots, Justin Bieber, Colbie Caillat, and more for a celebration of music at the Opera House at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. The special was hosted by John Leguizamo.

Plot

The show begins with the song "I Gotta Feeling", performed by The Backyardigans and other Nick Jr. characters. During the song, an announcer introduces John Leguizamo, who dances along to the music. He says that he will be the show's host and invites DJ Lance Rock (of Yo Gabba Gabba!) onto the stage. DJ Lance greets the audience, and brings out the rest of the characters from his show, as the theme song is played. They perform "Lovely, Love My Family" with The Roots.

After the performance, backstage, John reveals that he danced so hard at the opening number that he wore out his shoes, and he can't find his special dancing shoes to replace them. He needs these shoes for the concert's grand finale. Dora and Boots from Dora the Explorer try to help him find them, but they have no luck. John is supplied with a pair of quacking duck shoes as Dora and Boots agree to help look for his dancing shoes. He agrees to wear them briefly as he introduces Wyclef Jean and his daughter Angelina, who perform "Carnival".

Later on, John, now in the audience, is presented with a pair of rain boots to wear, along with an umbrella. John puts the boots on and warns the crowd in front of him that it will rain soon. Confetti "rains" from the ceiling as Laurie Berkner's band performs "My Family". Afterwards, stage manager Sherri Shepherd tells John that he may not need his dancing shoes, because the Fresh Beat Band has not arrived yet, so the big finale might not happen.

The Fresh Beat Band calls John on their cellphone. They mention that they are on the road, heading to the show, but they are stopped by a crossing guard, who makes them wait for a chicken to cross the road. The chicken eventually manages to cross after getting help from Dr. Phil. While they wait, the audience is served to a duet of Katrina and the Waves' "Walking on Sunshine" by Kai-lan and Colbie Caillat.

The next scene shows Sherri helping John look for his shoes backstage. They realize that they have checked nearly every room in the stadium. John realizes the only room they have not examined yet is the Wonder Pets' room. John looks inside, where he sees the Wonder Pets. They sing "Joy to the World" by Three Dog Night. On his way back to the stage, John finds a pair of diving flippers with a matching mask and snorkel, but they don't work out either. The next song is Dora the Explorer and Wyclef Jean singing "La Bamba" together.

John returns to the stage, this time wearing clown shoes. He decides to call the Fresh Beat Band again to check on their progress. Over a video call, the band members told that they stopped for a snack in the park on their road trip. There, they meet Justin Bieber singing a short verse from his song "Baby" on guitar. The Fresh Beats applaud his singing, quickly leaving afterwards to get to the show.

Joe (Donovan Patton) from Blue's Clues walks on stage, giving John a cream pie since he is wearing clown shoes, but John stops him from putting it in his face. Joe asks the audience to help him find his dog, Blue. After finding her, Joe sings the "Snack Pattern Song" alongside the characters from Team Umizoomi. As the song ends, Joe notices that the song made Blue hungry and gave her a "party in her tummy", which brings back The Yo Gabba Gabba! characters, who sing the "Party in My Tummy" song as they have a snack.

Backstage, John begins to worry that they will never find his dancing shoes and that the Fresh Beats will not arrive in time for the finale, which is making him angry. Kai-lan arrives and helps him to calm down by taking a deep breath, and singing him a short song about how to calm down. He takes a deep breath, relaxes, and thanks her. Once he returns to the stage, the Fresh Beat Band finally arrives. But while John is happy to see them, he still cannot perform the finale without his dancing shoes.

John asks the Fresh Beats to help him and Dora find his shoes. He describes them as flashy and red with gold stars on them. Twist remembers seeing shoes like that, and everyone finds them in his backpack. After finding them, John admits that he left them in their car after their dance rehearsal. He goes to prepare for the finale as the Fresh Beats perform "Great Day" and "Stomp the House". John returns, as the big finale song, "Let's Get Loud", plays, and everyone from earlier in the show returns to dance along. The credits roll as the audience is thanked for coming, and the show ends.
