Henry and June reporting

Nicktoon World News was a series of interstitials aired between programs on Nickelodeon in 2001 and 2002. The shorts featured KaBlam! hosts Henry and June reporting on news regarding the world of animation, mainly relating to Nicktoons, though cartoons produced by competitors such as Disney and Cartoon Network were also covered or mentioned in some segments.

Known segments[]

  • Henry and June report on the home video release of Rugrats in Paris: The Movie, specifically mentioning the two stingers included as bonus features. Henry asks if Coco LaBouche's new jobs smell any worse than Mr. Foot, a comment that the big guy does not take kindly to.
  • Henry provides "a look at" (as in, showing a picture of) Butch Hartman and then says he wants a kebab for lunch, but June insists he actually tell the viewers something about Butch Hartman. Henry explains how Butch previously worked on Dexter's Laboratory and Johnny Bravo, and mentions that The Fairly OddParents got its start on Oh Yeah! Cartoons.
  • Henry and June report on the premise of Invader Zim, saying that Jhonen Vasquez based the show on real-life experience ("He himself was once an Earthling grade student"). They then cut to Mr. Foot on home safety, which is simply a shot of him standing around his house (utilizing recycled footage from a U-Pick Friday segment). When June asks how exactly that was home safety, Henry says it's because he successfully avoided being hit by an avalanche. When June scoffs at that, she and Henry are suddenly hit by an avalanche themselves.
  • June gives an update about Pokémon the Movie 3, saying that it will feature new(-to-animation) Pokémon and will be accompanied by the featurette Pikachu and Pichu. Henry, believing Nintendo is holding auditions for new Pokémon, then puts on a Pikachu mask and calls himself "Henkachu". June finds this creepy, and Mr. Foot promptly slams Henry into the ground again.
  • June reports on the 2001 return of SpongeBob's Nicktoon Summer Splash programming block. Henry compliments that SpongeBob is as good at hosting the block as he is, saying "not any bozo can do this job!" Just then, Mr. Foot grabs him and switches jobs with him.
  • The duo report on Rugrats receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Henry adds that they're not the first cartoon stars to receive this honor, citing Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny, and Harrison Ford as precedence. June informs him that Harrison Ford isn't actually a Toon, prompting Henry to apologize for having dropped an anvil on the actor.
  • In a spot that aired on the day that the Rugrats special "All Growed Up" premiered, Henry says that he can use the computers to predict what any Toon will look like ten years from now, and demonstrates with June. When he tries to do the same with himself, though, it instead shows a picture of Mr. Foot.
  • June describes the plot of the newly-premiered The Mummy animated series, and Henry keeps saying he wishes that his life was like Alex's, even saying he wishes he had an evil mummy trying to destroy him. When June responds, "How about an irritable sasquatch?", Mr. Foot grabs him and tosses him offscreen.
  • The duo report on the Jimmy Neutron shorts, with Mr. Foot giving an interpretive dance in his "shorts".
  • Henry and June report on Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius as it premieres in theaters. They then give their own personal "Toon Star Movie Review" and Mr. Foot dances with his head of hair done up like Jimmy's hairstyle.
  • Henry and June report on the development of Disney's direct-to-video film The Hunchback Of Notre Dame II. Not much is known about this segment except that its existence has been confirmed by Nickstory Archives, MissTudorRose and CBCD2.
  • Henry and June report on Totally Spies, with Henry going through various sets while singing "Rolling, Rolling, Rolling", backgrounds include a shopping mall & the Daily U-PICK segment background. This segment was confirmed by CBCD2 & The Nickstory Archives.
