Nicktoons Nick Tunes is an Nicktoons CD-ROM game that was released on September 13, 2001. The game was published by Infogrames and developed by ImaginEngine.
Summary[]
Nicktoons Nick Tunes is a PC-powered microphone and CD-ROM game that turns a PC into a Nicktoons recording studio. Share the mic and sing along with the stars of the most popular network for kids, Nickelodeon. Features characters from top-rated shows, including Rugrats, The Wild Thornberrys, Hey Arnold!, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Rocket Power. Children can sing a duet or karaoke with four of the characters, play musical challenge games, and save and replay recorded songs to compile soundtracks on their own virtual CD.
All of the songs can be saved to CD as one of 12 soundtracks. Once all 12 slots are filled, Angelica presents the "Best New Artist Ever Award" and children can record their acceptance speech. The game also includes the Mix Master Studio, where kids can record and play their voices or talk into the Voice Synthecator, which warps their voice into one of seven sound effects (i.e. mouse, ghost, or robot).
Challenge Games[]
Each character will have their own challenge game, and will provide the player with instructions on how to play. Once the player completes the challenge, they can choose to add their track to their CD case or replay the challenge again.
I've Been Working on My Homework[]
Arnold and Gerald are making a music video, but Arnold is having trouble learning the dance moves. So, Arnold decided to create a game out of it. When the music begins, the player and Gerald will need to call out the moves for Arnold by using the microphone. The player only gets three chances, so if they do not call out the moves with Gerald, one of the disco balls will disappear. If they lose three disco balls, the game is over, and you'll have to restart the game from the beginning.
Where Can Those Animals Be?[]
Eliza explains that the animals come to the riverbed to not only drink and cool off, but also to sing. So she decides to help out the player by recording the sounds of the animals. As soon as the song begins, the animals will pop out of their hiding places. With the microphone, the player will have to point and click the animal's singing to record. The number of times that the player catches the animals singing will be recorded as well.
He'll Be Boarding Down the Mountain (She'll Be Coming Around the Mountain) with Otto Rocket[]
Otto Rocket tells the player that he sees his best when boarding on the slopes, and even doing jumps without missing the beat. The objective for this challenge is to point the microphone to Otto and sing along while he is boarding. When Otto is about to jump to perform a trick, the player will have to say the word that appears on the screen. The player will have three chances, so if they don't sing anything, Otto will wipeout and one of the snowboard will disappear. If all three snowboards disappear, the player will have to start over from the beginning.
On My Krabby Patty[]
Spongebob is going to write a new song, and explains that "what separates a good songwriter from a great songwriter is getting the lyrics just right". In the first section, before the player can answer some questions, Spongebob accidentally sneezes which causes the papers to fly. The player will have to catch as many papers as they can by using the microphone. They will need to catch at least three or more questions (maximum is 5) to proceed to the interview phrase. Sometimes, Spongebob will sneeze a second time after promising not to sneeze and the player is prompt to do another round of paper catching.
In the second section, Spongebob will randomly read out the questions depending on the number of questions the player has. The player will have to speak their response into the microphone. The following questions are:
- What's your favorite sea animal?
- How old are you?
- What does your name sound like when if say it backwards?
- What rhymes with Squidward?
- What's your favorite word?
- What's black and white and red all over?
- AAAAH! What's that behind you?!
- What do you say when a lobster pinches you on the nose?
- What do you like on top of your Krabby Patty?
- Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?
- What weighs more than an anchor?
- What sound does a sponge make?
- What's more fun than a barrel of jellyfish?
- What do you say when you trip on your shoelaces?
- How do you feel after you eat ice cream?
- What is your best friend's name?
- Where do you live?
- How much wood would a yellow sponge chuck if a yellow sponge could chuck wood?
- What do you want to be when you grow up?
- What do you say when you answer the telephone?
- What's your favorite musical instrument?
- What's the best thing about pirates?
- How do they say "I split my pants" in outer space?
Once the questions are answered, Spongebob will sing the song "On My Krabby Patty" with the answers from the player.

Trivia[]
- This was the first time Tommy, Angelica, Arnold, Eliza, SpongeBob, and Patrick have actual voiced lines in a crossover game rather than using the archived audio recordings taken directly from episodes of many shows.
- The Microphone that the game comes with is advertised as a controller, as it can be used like a pointer. However, this is completely optional and you could just use your mouse instead, even though the game never says you can.
- Stimpy makes a cameo as an award at the end of the game.
- All of the songs in the game are rewritten versions of already existing songs.
- This is the first crossover game to feature Rocket Power.
- This predates the Rocket Power Episode: Beach Boyz & a Girl, where it was addressed that Reggie couldn't sing.
- Rocket Power is also the only show where Reggie hosts the sing-along game while Otto hosts the challenge game.
- Spongebob's challenge game takes inspiration from Mad Libs.
- During Spongebob's section, there are two quotes that make a reference to the show's theme song.
- One of Spongebob's questions, asking the player (in song) "Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?"
- One during the singing game where (if the player doesn't sing) Spongebob says "Maybe my ears are full of saltwater, BUT I CAN’T HEEAAR YOOOU!"
- Squidward is mentioned in this game, but does not make an appearance.
Errors[]
- During the Name Selection screen, if you choose to erase an existing save data while Angelica says "Now you gotta erase a name! Click on one of these names and then click on the 'delete' button," the word "button" is cut off at the end, thus resulting in the word "but".
