Lincoln Finds Out Gran-Gran's Secret! - "Pop Pop the Question" 5 Minute Episode - The Loud House

"Pop Pop the Question" is the first segment of the 152nd episode of The Loud House. It and its partner episode, "Lynn and Order", originally aired on Christmas Day of 2022 as a lead-in to Nickelodeon's airing of the NFL Nickmas Game, which was also simulcast on CBS. The episode is also notable because its events lead in to those of the movie No Time to Spy: A Loud House Movie.

Synopsis[]

During a family game night, Albert secretly tells the Louds that he's planning to propose to Myrtle. Later that evening, after Albert and Myrtle have left, Lincoln tells his sisters that they should do something special for their Pop-pop's proposal, but Lynn Jr. points out they don't really know much about Myrtle's interests. When the siblings realize they also have never learned her last name, Lisa runs a photo of Myrtle on an image scanner to learn more about her, but the machine reveals that Myrtle has had numerous aliases, raising the kids' suspicions.

The next day, the kids pay a visit to Sunset Canyon. While Leni, Luna, Luan, Lynn Jr., and Lana ask Albert and Myrtle on how to improve their shuffle-boarding skills, the other siblings look around Myrtle's room for clues about her suspicious past. Eventually, Lola accidentally finds a secret room hidden in Myrtle's closet, containing disguises, passports, and an album depicting Myrtle with numerous husbands. Later, back at home, Lisa scans Myrtle's old wedding photos and finds that all of Myrtle's past husbands are declared missing. Lucy says this is just like the Red Tarantula, a character in Vampires of Melancholia who marries then murders unsuspecting men for their money. Thinking Myrtle is actually planning to kill their grandfather, the kids set off to stop her.

On the way to Sunset Canyon, they are run off the road by a tailgating van, which the kids believe is Myrtle trying to stop them. When the kid arrive at the retirement home, Bernie tells them that Myrtle just took Albert to Sleeping Bear Dunes, which is full of steep cliffs. The kids rush over there, but they seem to have arrived too late, as they find Myrtle seemingly pushing Albert over a cliff. Horrified at the apparent murder of their Pop-pop, the kids accuse Myrtle, saying they know all about her shady past. Suddenly, they then hear Albert, actually alive and well, calling from the side of the cliff; it turns out he and Myrtle are actually doing some rock-climbing. Confused about this, the kids ask Myrtle about the disguises and passports they found, and she admits the truth to them: she is actually a retired secret agent, and her past "marriages" were actually cover-ups for missions with her old partners, whose whereabouts are now all being kept secret. After the kids apologize for misjudging her, Myrtle tells them that she actually brought Albert out here so she could propose to him, and then proceeds to do so. The next day, at the couple's engagement party, Lisa asks Myrtle just why she tried to run them off the road last night, but Myrtle doesn't know what she's talking about. The van from last night then shows up and crashes into the fountain, and it turns out that it was actually Scoots driving the vehicle for Tyler's new mobile DJ business.
