Ronald Lee Ermey (March 24, 1944 – April 15, 2018) was an American actor and voice actor who was also a United States Marine Corps staff sergeant and an honorary gunnery sergeant. During his tenure in the U.S. Marine Corps, he served as a drill instructor. In his acting career, he was often typecast in authority figure roles, most notably Gunnery Sergeant Hartman in the 1987 film Full Metal Jacket, which earned him a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

On Nickelodeon, his most prominent role was as the voice of Lt. Tice on Rocket Power. He also voiced Sergeant Goonther on The Angry Beavers, Sergeant Hobo 678 on Invader Zim, Sarge in My Life as a Teenage Robot, and the warden in the SpongeBob SquarePants episode "The Inmates of Summer".

Ermey died at a hospital in Santa Monica, California, from complications related to pneumonia on the morning of April 15, 2018, three weeks after his 74th birthday.
