In 2001, it was announced several ''Rugrats'' spin-off projects were being considered, including one centered on Angelica's adventures at preschool. In 2002, a press release confirmed that the series would "take the form of four specials also targeted for telecast in 2003-04."<ref>[https://web.archive.org/web/20041213175814/http://www.rugratonline.com/tweens2.htm Production Also Gets Underway on Four Specials Spotlighting Angelica and Susie's Pre-School Adventures]</ref> With the success of ''All Grown Up!'' (which was originally supposed to begin ''after'' this series), the miniseries' premiere was delayed. In May 2005, Klasky-Csupo announced that it had completed the specials and would release them on the ''Rugrats: Tales from the Crib'' DVDs.
In 2001, the show was commissioned, along with ''All Grown Up!'', for 13 episodes and was slated to premiere late 2002. It was also announced that the new spin-off was to feature new looks for the two characters.

The next official word on this series was in a press release for ''All Grown Up!'' in September 2002, which it was announced that it was now a mini-series of four episodes, and there were also known to be complications involving the planned animation designs for the characters. With the success of ''All Grown Up!'' (which was actually supposed to begin ''after'' this series), the spin-off was forgotten until May 2005, when Klasky-Csupo announced that it had completed the "first" 4 episodes, and would release them on the ''Rugrats: Tales From The Crib'' DVDs.

For a brief period of time in 2010, ''Pre-School Daze'' was put back on the air on Nickelodeon on weekend mornings, showing all of the episodes once, and then it was taken off the air again.

Rugrats Pre-School Daze (also known as Angelica and Susie's Pre-School Daze) is a miniseries of four specials based on the Rugrats episode "Pre-School Daze". It is the third incarnation of the Rugrats franchise.

In the specials, Angelica and Susie are entering pre-school. Pre-School Daze first aired in the United Kingdom on July 25, 2005, and was released on the Tales from the Crib: Snow White and Three Jacks and a Beanstalk DVDs. The specials made their U.S. television premiere on Nickelodeon from November 16, 2008 to December 7, 2008 at 6:00 AM Eastern Time.

History

In 2001, it was announced several Rugrats spin-off projects were being considered, including one centered on Angelica's adventures at preschool. In 2002, a press release confirmed that the series would "take the form of four specials also targeted for telecast in 2003-04."[1] With the success of All Grown Up! (which was originally supposed to begin after this series), the miniseries' premiere was delayed. In May 2005, Klasky-Csupo announced that it had completed the specials and would release them on the Rugrats: Tales from the Crib DVDs.
