Eugene Beady, better known as Snotty Boy, is the central antagonist in the Barnyard franchise, and takes on an antagonistic role after his aunt, Nora Beady, in the TV series Back at the Barnyard. He also appears in the film's video game and in the browser game Boy Tipping.

He is a cruel and annoying boy who likes to torment and bother others, but especially the animals in the barnyard, which is close to his Aunt Nora's house, who thinks he is sweet and adorable, despite this, the animals always find a way to get back at him. He lives in a condominium called Happy Acres in the big city, and usually spends the weekend at his Aunt Nora's house, much to the disdain of his Uncle Nathan, who he also loves to torment.

In his first appearance in the film, he knocks a cow in the barn, which causes Otis and the Jersey Cows to later get back at him, breaking into his room and knocking him over while he sleeps, revealing the secret of being able to speak, which leaves him traumatized. Despite this, he still returns as the central antagonist in the TV series.

He is voiced by Steve Oedekerk.

Personality[]

Eugene is cruel, sadistic, and insufferable, and is always tormenting the lives of anyone around him (except his Aunt Nora) and mistreating the barnyard animals for no reason. His biggest fun in general is causing trouble and annoying others, and even though he often earns karma for his behavior, he never learns his lesson.

In addition to having a big ego, disrespecting his parents and claiming that he can do whatever he wants and that he is better than anyone, he is also extremely rude and arrogant, lacking a lot of respect for other people, even those he doesn't even know, a perfect example of this is in the episode "Arcade of Doom", where while visiting the new arcade, he slaps the place's mascot who is an adult man, and then kicks him away.

He also often lacks intelligence, and is shown to be quite stupid, such as when he claims to have skills like karate, which he clearly doesn't have, and also absurd superpowers like tracking moose in the episode "Rodeotis" as he and his friends hunt for Otis and Pip, thinking they are moose.

Snotty Boy also has a very limited vocabulary of insults, mainly using the words "stinky" and "stupid" to provoke others.

Appearance[]

Eugene is an overweight pre-teen boy with blue eyes, tall curly red hair, and freckles, and wears a purple "2" jersey with yellow trim, along with red jeans and sneakers. He also wears braces and is almost always showing his upper teeth.

Family[]

Eugene, as well treated as he is by most of his relatives, appears arrogant and ungrateful most of the time towards them, even towards his parents, with whom he has shown himself to be very disrespectful on many occasions, most notably towards his father, whom he claims to despise because of his work as a clown.

His aunt Nora is shown to be the only person he respects, as he always comes with compliments and flowers for her when he visits her and always pretends to be well behaved, which is exactly the opposite of his uncle Nathan, who always He suffers when he is visited by him.

He also has an older cousin named Bernard, who used to beat him a lot in the past, which probably led to his terrible behavior in the present. In "Snotty and Snottier", Eugene sees him again after a long time and he continues to mistreat him, until in the end, Nora discovers everything, and forbids Bernard from visiting Eugene again.

Trivia[]

  • His nickname "Snotty" came from a brief scene in the film where he wipes his nose as it runs.
  • During the film's behind-the-scenes video, Snotty Boy's voice actor, Steve Oedekerk, who also directed the film, said he found his voice acting for the character quite annoying, which was good, as he fit the character perfectly.
