SpongeBob Tower Defense (titled as SpongeBob SquarePants Tower Defense) is an officially licensed SpongeBob SquarePants online multiplayer video game created and developed by Wonder Works Studio under the group "Krabby Krew." It is available to play for free as an experience on the Roblox platform. This game acts similar to any other Tower Defense game, where the player has to protect a certain location or object from getting damaged, by placing units to fend off mobs that walk along a path that leads to said object.

Gameplay[]
The game is built in the Roblox engine, which includes basic walk and jump mechanics. This game also acts similar to any other Tower Defense game as mentioned above. The player spawns outside of SpongeBob's house at The Reef Retreat as they choose a unit that they can use, either being SpongeBob, Patrick, or Squidward. The player can go to Patrick's AFK rock to get rewards, go to Squidward's challenges, buy stuff from the Mr. Krabs merchant, get traits from Sandy, and summon creatures at the Poseidome Colosseum. The trading and raid features are upcoming.
Outside of the Krusty Krab, there are many buses that the player can use to teleport to Conch Street and the player has to protect a certain location or object from getting damaged, by placing units to fend off mobs that walk along a path that leads to said object. The player can also place more units and upgrades using coins to make the level easier. Each world has 10 chapters.

- The Krusty Krab, Chum Bucket, bus, and SpongeHenge use models from the unofficial SpongeBob SquarePants fangame The Spongy Construction Project[1][2][3][4].
- It was rumored that the game stole the models without permission until December 25, 2024, where during a chat with SquidTron C on Discord, The Spongy Construction Project developer spongeis5 confirmed that the developers of SpongeBob Tower Defense were given permission to use the models by the developers of The Spongy Construction Project when they found the models in the toolbox and unknowingly put them in the game[5].
- The only differences of these models are that the outlines are missing.
- However, The Spongy Construction Project updated the model for the Krusty Krab earlier in 2024, making the model used in SpongeBob Tower Defense a reuse of the outdated version.
- One of the icons for the game, an image of Plankton in front of a red background was widely speculated to be made with generative artificial intelligence. This is due to the image's uncanny features such as his teeth, arms that seemingly have fingernails, a strange wrinkle above his eyebrow, and the overall hyper realistic aspects such as the textures on his body. This icon only lasted for a few hours, however, and was shortly reverted.
- One of the icons for the game, SpongeBob with an angry face and a spatula with Jellyfish Fields in the background, has SpongeBob's face from when he got angry at Patrick from the SpongeBob SquarePants season 4 episode "The Pink Purloiner."
- One of the games' thumbnails is a recreation of the "Oh? You're Approaching Me?" meme from the manga series Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.
