"Nick Nick Nick", also officially called "The Nick Mnemonic", is the trademark jingle of Nickelodeon used since 1984, originally sung by Eugene Pitt. It has been used and remixed in various commercial bumpers for the network.

Lyrics[]

Nick, nick, nick, nick, na-nick, nick, nick...
Nick-e-lo-de-on!

Appearances[]

  • The jingle is used as a sound effect in Nickelodeon 3D Movie Maker.
  • An 8-bit version of this jingle is heard as the title screen in the Game Boy Color version of Nicktoons Racing.
  • In the Nickmas short "Holiday Party", Santa Claus laughs to the tune of the jingle.
  • In the Fanboy & Chum Chum episode "Slime Day", Fanboy utters the jingle when he reads the copyright message on the "I DON'T KNOW" slime. At the end of the episode, the original Eugene Pitt version of the jingle plays.
  • In The Loud House episode "Roadie to Nowhere", Mrs. Vaporciyan plays part of the jingle on the trombone.
  • A ukulele version of the jingle appears in the SpongeBob's Movie Theater Etiquette short and The SpongeBob Musical: Live on Stage!
  • A bombastic version of the jingle (composed by John Debney and Germaine Franco) appears on the 2019 Nickelodeon Movies logo.
  • A dramatic orchestral remix of the 5-note jingle (composed by Explosion Robinson) can be heard on the 2020 Nickelodeon Movies logo.
  • In the Game Shakers episode "Spy Games", Dub scats his name in the famous theme.

Trivia[]

  • Even though the "Nick Extra" bumpers were dropped in 2008, the famous jingle was not dropped until 2009 (although the original Eugene Pitt version of the jingle was recycled for Nick at Nite's bumper music from 2007-2009 and even the British version of Nick has a remixed 5-note jingle in the then-new idents since March 7, 2009).
    • However, the 2008-2009 bumpers used different soundtracks by Laurent Lombard, Andy Britton, Matt Siola and other composers. Also, the jingle was not heard in the same year's bumpers, as well as in 2019.
  • Since 2009, the 5-note jingle returned, but the beginning eight notes of the famous theme are absent.
    • Later in 2010, the beginning eight notes of the theme also returned, when all the Nick stars were singing the full theme in the same year's bumpers (as well as the Nicktoon characters in 2011), along with the 2011 Kids' Choice Awards (where the host Jack Black honked the horn version of network's signature tune in his monster truck) and other bumpers.
  • The variations of the phrase song (such as techno, country, hip-hop, rock, heavy metal, disco and orchestral) are currently heard in the bumpers on Nick.
  • The 5-note jingle from the 2009 Nickelodeon Productions logo can be also heard on the new promos used since 2018, alongside the techno remix of the jingle from the 2016-2017 bumpers and other (rare) variations.
