Technicolor Madness (also known as Variety, due to the variety of bumpers it has) is the sixteenth (thirteenth is excluding Pre-Nickelodeon eras) branding era of Nickelodeon. It debuted on February 3, 2013, replacing the Whitespace era. It was replaced with Kids First on March 11, 2017.

Whitespace wasn't fully replaced with this era, as the years still use the screen bug and "Nickelodeon Productions" logo from that era. Futura Maxi CG Bold-the font or that era-also gets to stay.

Bumpers and Promos[]

Besides Seeing Orange, this era is the most varied and extended than the other eras in terms of bumpers, as those bumpers take on various styles-from Photoshop and Video Games, to orange screens and circles. Most of the bumpers use cyan, magenta, yellow, and green along with the iconic orange. This is contrast to Whitespace, that used only orange and white. Later bumpers, specifically ones from 2015 involve characters in an orange background, complementan Whitespace. Bumpers can even vary between countries, as some international bumpers use a grid system, like Cartoon Network. So, there are bumpers exclusive to other countries outside U.S. This is why some people prefer to fuse the bumpers series into one whole era instead of many different ones.

Promos are also varied too, as they are made from various studios and have different styles. Promos outside the U.S. use a grid system, a lot like Cartoon Network's CHECK it and Dimensional eras, but use the colors of their own brand, with the Nickelodeon logo either be revealed through transformation or in the bottom left of the screen.

The next banners are still around, but are upgraded to have colors.

Cute[]

The Cute Bumpers were a series of 6 bumpers created by Ronda and then packaged to Nickelodeon to be used by Nick being first used in early March of 2013 then stopped in 2015. Different characters interact with each other to finally take the form of letter and assemble the Nickelodeon logo. The challenge that the characters are interesting as well as the interactions between them made it necessary to have more than one version of each with different riggs, to meet the demands of the animatics.

Cut-Out[]

Cut-Out bumpers were introduced in 2013. More rolled out over the years until 2015. These feature characters from Nick's live action shows doing everyday things, but the style makes unordinary. The bumpers are composed of cliparts, including cut-outs of the characters' heads.

Seasonal[]

The seasonal bumper are featured in Nickelodeon channels outside the United States. They feature short original clips-using the colors from the earlier part of the brand. Those clips are-hence the name-based on one of the four seasons. After the clips we see a logo variant, with letters styled after the items from those clips, before transforming back to the original logo. There were only four 15-second bumpers, all of which were generic.

Orange Screen[]

The Orange Screen bumpers were introduced in 2015 while other bumpers series became defunct. More rolled out over the years until the Kids First era in 2017. These feature characters from Nick's live action shows with various props. The bumpers are set in a orange screen (similar to the green screen). You will see the characters cheer, dance, or whatever.

Orange was used a lot more in these bumpers, while cyan, magenta, yellow, and even green are almost nonexistent. You need a really keen keen eye to find them. The Nickelodeon logo is almost always white.

The "Nickelodeon" and "Nick" logos are used conversely.

Various artists created bumpers for this series to promote Nicktoons.

  • Paul Robertson: whose bumpers consist of 16-bit style animations of Nicktoons characters.
  • Vincy Cheung: whose bumpers are stop motion, using Wooden toys of the characters.
