Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem is a 2023 American CG-animated superhero comedy film based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles characters created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird. The film is co-produced by Point Grey Pictures and released in theaters on August 2, 2023.
Plot[]
One night in New York, Baxter Stockman is working on "ooze" that can turn animals into anthropomorphic-like creatures. However, he is killed by TCRI, led by the mysterious Cynthia Utrom.
15 years later, Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello are teenagers who have to stay in the shadows due to their father, Splinter, believing that humans would hate them and milk them. One day, Raph accidentally throws a ninja star at April O'Neil's head, leading to her losing her scooter. Gaining a crush on her, Leo convinces his brothers to get her scooter back. Although they fumble at first, they take down the criminals that stole it. They officially meet April and tell her their story. When she mentions that she's after a criminal named Superfly, the turtles see this as their chance to be accepted, so they decide to help her with the case.
They meet Superfly, who turns out to be a mutant that was raised by Stockman. The turtles are happy that they have met people like them. However, Superfly reveals that he is building a machine that will rain the ooze onto every animal on the planet, and plans on killing every human. They try to stop him, but fail, and end up getting captured by TCRI. While April goes to find Splinter, the turtles are milked by Utrom, who wants to use the mutants' blood to create her own army of super soldiers. They are saved by Splinter, who decides to help his sons, but makes them promise that they will stay in the sewers forever.
Back at Superfly's hideout, the machine is built, but the other mutants are having second thoughts about killing every human. The turtles manage to change everyone's minds except Superfly, who is angered by the betrayal of his own brothers and sisters. He activates the machine, and while they are able to shut it down, Superfly turns into a giant mutant monster. Realizing that he doesn't want to be like Superfly, Splinter decides to help them stop him as he ravages New York as a whale-like monster.
In New York City, they realize that by using the anti-mutagen, they can turn the animals back to normal. They are seen as monsters by the news. While this initially hurts them, they decide saving the city is more important than being accepted. With renewed confidence, they head to put the anti-mutagen in Superfly's blowhole. April goes on the news and tells people the truth: the turtles and the other mutants are trying to stop Superfly, not help him. The humans and mutants work together to stop Superfly, and Leo manages to put the mutagen in his blowhole, turning him back into a regular fly. The turtles, along with the other mutants, are congratulated and finally accepted into society, while Splinter begins a relationship with Scumbug.
Some time later, the turtles go to school. Donnie finds his people, Mikey joins an improv club, Raph becomes a wrestler, and Leo helps April with trying to stop TCRI. He asks her out to prom. Angered that capturing them will be very hard, Utrom decides to call an old acquaintance.
