The Fairly OddParents Official Poster

The Fairly OddParents: Fairly Odder is an American short-lived coming-of-age comedy series and reboot of the classic Nicktoon, The Fairly OddParents. It premiered on March 31, 2022 on Paramount+, and aired on Nickelodeon on April 21, 2022.[1] The series only ran for one season and was removed from Paramount+ (likely due to negative reception) on January 30, 2023, while the last episode aired on TV two days later.

Synopsis[]

Ty Turner uproots his life to reunite with his high school sweetheart, Rachel Raskin, in the town of Dimmsdale, thrusting his cautious 13-year-old daughter, Viv, into a new world where she does not fit in. Once there, Viv’s cousin, Timmy, entrusts his fairy godparents, Wanda and Cosmo, to help her adjust by taking her under their wings. Witnessing the fairy transfer take place, Viv's charismatic new stepbrother, Roy, also inherits them, and the two siblings must take turns making wishes. Together, they learn to overcome the obstacles in their path, all with the help from their new wand-wielding and wish-granting fairy godparents.

Trivia[]

  • This is Butch Hartman and Billionfold, Inc.'s first Nickelodeon production to not involve Frederator Studios since Danny Phantom.
    • This is also the only The Fairly OddParents production to not involve Frederator Studios.
  • Like the movies, this show's format is animation mixed with live-action. Unlike the movies, however, Cosmo and Wanda are depicted in 2D animation, somewhat like Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
  • The pilot features Timmy Turner grown up and portrayed by someone other than Drake Bell.
    • This is the third time Timmy Turner is portrayed by another actor.
    • Also at the time Drake Bell was in Probation
  • Carlos Alazraqui, the voice actor for Denzel Crocker, reprises his role in the series.
  • The premiere episode of the series had a similar plot to the Blue's Clues episode "Steve Goes to College", where the original main character (Steve/Timmy) leaves for college and gives his companion/s (Blue/Cosmo and Wanda) to the new main character (Joe/Viv).
  • After Fairly Odder had ended, Daran Norris had confirmed that they're working on a CGI reboot of Fairly Oddparents on Ned's Declassified Podcast Survival Guide, the CGI reboot would later be called The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish.
  • In the ending of "Channel Chasers", Timmy had two children named Tommy and Tammy, and Cosmo and Wanda became their godchildren; the kids were absent in the spin-off, with Viv taking their place.
  • Since the series was wiped off of streaming and hasn’t made any home media releases, there’s no way to watch the entire series officially anywhere. Only one of the episodes, being “The Forbidden Phrase” is still available on YouTube.
