"Vacation (also known as "Rugrats Summer Special" and "Las Vegas Vacation Special") is the 68th episode of Rugrats. It is notably the first episode of the series (and of any Nickelodeon series, for that matter) to be released directly to home video before airing on television; it was first featured on the A Rugrats Vacation VHS tape in 1997. It had its televised premiere in Australia on January 14, 1998, and later in the US on May 29th of the same year.
Synopsis[]
The gang takes a vacation to Las Vegas (which the babies call "Slots Vegas"). Upon arrival in Las Vegas, Didi, Betty and Charlotte go on a girls' day out, leaving the men in charge of the kids. However, Drew, Howard and Chas instead go skiing, and Grandpa Lou goes to play in the casino, leaving Stu with the kids. The babies quickly escape from him to look for Siegfried and Roy Heimlich and Bob's Siberian tigers (which Tommy thinks are large kittens).

Notes[]
- On the Decade in Diapers VHS and DVD, the shot of Chuckie swinging around after the commercial break was cut.
- For some reason (but possibly due to the use of "Vacation" by the Gogos), early copies of the Rugrats: Season 4 manufacture-on-demand DVD set did not include this episode, and it is also missing from Paramount+. The episode was reinstated on copies of the DVD set made after 2014, and the Paramount re-release also includes the episode intact.
