Wonder Pets! is an American television show for preschoolers that aired on Nickelodeon's Nick Jr. block. The show features three class pets (Linny the Guinea Pig, Ming-Ming Duckling, and Turtle Tuck) who turn into a team of superheroes whenever the students are away. In each episode, the trio goes on adventures in their Flyboat to save baby animals. The show was created by Josh Selig, well known for his previous TV series Oobi. It ran for three seasons.

On February 4th, 2023, Paramount has trademarked a potential revival/reboot titled Wonder Pets: In The City, though the title is all we know for now.[1]

Production and history[]

Wonder Pets! was brainstormed during the development of Little Airplane's previous show, Oobi, as Josh Selig created two shorts for Season 1's wrap party. These shorts were known as "Linny the Guinea Pig," which the employees at Little Airplane loved so much, they wanted Selig to pitch the shorts to Nickelodeon. Selig would eventually do so, and Nickelodeon greenlit the project as a full-length series. The shorts were then released to the public on the Nick Jr. Website in 2004, acting as pilots to what's to come.

During development, Ming-Ming and Tuck were added to create a team of heroes known as The Wonder Pets. The first full episode of Wonder Pets! aired on the Nick Jr. block on Nickelodeon and Noggin on March 3, 2006. While seasons 1 and 2 first aired on Nickelodeon, the last 6 episodes of season 3 would air exclusively on the Nick Jr. Channel.
